Advanced financial modelling
Advanced financial modelling
Financial Training Associates' 3 day advanced modelling course allows participants to improve the reliability and quality of their Excel models. Experienced modellers appreciate that expert financial modelling demands a highly structured approach, together with an advanced knowledge of key Excel features and techniques. This course is designed for users with some prior experience of building financial models and shows delegates how to build superior financial models using tried and tested methods, applying Excel shortcuts and tricks as they go.
This is a highly practical, hands-on advanced Excel workshop. By the end of the course delegates will be able to:
- Build a financial model, starting from a blank spreadsheet
- Design models which minimise errors
- Write their own financial models using advanced Excel features such as macros and data tables
- Apply advanced modelling techniques to conduct sensitivity and opimisation analyses.
Structure for the advanced financial modelling course
The advanced course starts by outlining good modelling standards and structure, and agreeing objectives for an integrated financial model. Each session considers the next stage of modelling, applying financial theory, model building techniques and exploring potential difficulties as participants build their own model in stages. This is a "hands on" course and participants spend the majority of their time on advanced practical financial modelling tasks. With the help of the course tutor, and through a well proven step-by-step approach, participants will depart this intensive course with the confidence and ability to apply advanced financial modelling techniques in Excel.
