AAT CPD requirements

The AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) asks members to assume control of their own professional development.  If you are an AAT member you must undertake the CPD you judge that you need to remain competent for your role.  You decide what you need to learn, and how you should learn.

The role of CPD courses for AAT members

The AAT asks members to:

• “Assess” their CPD training needs;
• “Plan” CPD training activities (including CPD courses) which will help meet needs;
• “Take action”: put in place a CPD training plan;
• “Evaluate” whether CPD training activities have successfully met training needs.

Members are required to keep an annual record of their thoughts, actions and activities.

AAT CPD hours

For AAT members CPD is measured by the outcomes and benefits the member judges they have gained, not by the hours spent undertaking CPD courses.
